Jatropha Urens
L.
Stinging nettle (E); Guaritoto (C); Ortiga (S); Pringamoza (C); Take (Cu). This is one of Panama's many stinging nettles. Known as 'take' to the Cuna, this species is used to whip minor criminals (!). Infusions of the leaves in Colombia are used as a diuretic and to dissolve kidney and gall stones.
